FIRST Tech Competition

TORC began mentoring the rookie Oxford Middle School FTC team 5291 – TOW-R

  • In 2011, we assisted them with programming
  • In 2012 we expanded our relationship. TORC opened its facility to TOW-R, allowing them to utilize our fabrication equipment, providing TORC student mentors, and sending three TORC members to judge a FTC competition.
  • In 2013, TOW-R joined TORC in mentorship. Both teams provided staff for the Daniel Axford/Oxford Elementary JrFLL Expo.

Testimonials

“When we visited the high school lab/workshop. I know we had several students help us…Victoria (TORC student mentor) helped both at the high school and visiting our FTC team several times when we met at the middle school. TORC team members and coaches were very helpful in the workshop and provided us with a lot of materials for our robot. They also made a number of recommendations for our build and provided us with parts (mostly hardware).” -Gary K., coach Team 5291 TOW-R
